    With the proceeds from the sale of an unmolested nineteen pair i'm pretty sure most of us could put together a speaker system that exceeds what he has created across the spectrum.

    No argument from me, just noted they had one redeeming value, though IMO not nearly enough to justify this price unless one needs a spare/replacement L569.

    Even though the "new" woofers are nice, taking out the 416's and putting in a new baffle with the 18" woofers has really got to throw off the whole bass/midrange/treble balance and overall character of the speakers-- not to mention the cabinet tuning etc.

    Yeah, would definitely need a lower XO point, forcing the 811 below its 'sweet spot', so would need to make it a tweeter and mount a 311 or larger on top to bridge the gap.
